Game Review (written by Theblackyak) Added on: 5 Feb 2012
What wasn’t to love in EA’s Road Rash? Back in the day, it seemed like racing games from the coin operated arcade conversions were a dime a dozen, but not very many centered around bikes. That’s right. Road Rash, for those of you unfamiliar with this classic title, is dirt biking with a twist. You have weapons.
The basic gist of the game is to race around the course and finish in front of the other racers or Rashers, as they are called in the game. You can do your best to race clean and use your mad driving skills to win OR you can play a little dirty and start using weaponry to take out your opponents. All is fair in love and Road Rash, however, and what you do unto them, they will do unto you. Be prepared for some crazy ballistae if you choose to open up your own can of whoop @$$.
You will have five circuits to race upon, each one a little bit different and possibly more dangerous than the last…depending on your violent choices and driving abilities. You also have a choice of several bikes. There are cops that will pull you over if you aren’t careful and you will have to pay a fine before you can get into any more races. Crashing will also keep you out of races, whether you wipe yourself out or your opposition gives you an unfriendly hand at that. Too much damage puts you in the pits, so race hard and watch out!
