Ported to the Sega Dreamcast from the coin operated arcades in the late nineties, The House of the Dead 2 is a first person perspective shooter with a horror theme. It is bloody, gory and overall a bit sick, making it most suited for mature gamers. It was published by Sega of America after development by Wow Entertainment. It was also available for the personal computer running the Windows operating system.
The House of the Dead 2, sometimes abbreviated HOD2 (not to be confused with Heart of Darkness), was a light gun arcade shooter in the arcades. With a touch of mystery added to the game, you will play the part of an ace detective, whose job takes place in a fictitious Italian city. You will have to investigate the goings on and find a way to stop the mad man who is unleashing horrid creatures and undead beings onto the city.
There are myriad things to do. Your first and foremost goal is to save the people and to do that, you are going to have to kill some monsters. You will also have to investigate the plans behind all of this mayhem. But, when push comes to shove you are going to simply walk around the streets of the city, hosing down any re-dead critter that comes near you.
