Game Review (written by Theblackyak) Added on: 16 Feb 2012
Don’t get Exodus for the Sega Genesis/Megadrive confused with the Ultima role playing games with similar titles. This Sega Genesis/Megadrive game is all about puzzle solving, not about slaying a bunch of orcs and other baddies with a party of merry adventurers. Making it even more different, this version of Exodus by Wisdom Tree Incorporated, offers a religious theme. In fact, the alternate title of the game is Joshua and the Battle of Jericho.
The game was released in the middle nineties, and gives you the ability to play the part of Joshua. He is the leader of God’s people, following Moses. Your goal, similar to the role of Joshua and Moses in the Bible, is to lead God’s people to the Promised Land. In order to do that, you will have to solve many puzzles to bypass the obstacles that are in your way. Falling rocks, evil soldiers, and many other things will try to stop you and the people from passing. There are also many ancient and classic Biblical bad guys to face off against, such as the Hittites, the Amorites and the Gezerites. Each puzzle you solve will get you and your charges closer and closer to the safety of the Promised Land.
