When it comes to fighting…games or real life…is there anything more awesome than a samurai warrior? Not likely. Samurai showdown, for the Neo Geo, was introduced in 1993 after a fun run in the coin operated arcades. It is a martial arts style of fighting game that offers nice, exaggerated anime or manga graphics, a smooth scroll and an overt amount of fun for the fighting gamer.
The game takes place, of course, in early Japan. There, a man named Shiro Tokisada Amakusa is trying to sell a heretic religion to the people of the land. The unsuspecting people, however, do not know that Shiro Tokisada Amakusa’s body has been hijacked by the evil Ambrosia and that he spilling forth her evil ideals when he speaks. She wants darkness to overtake the world.
In Samurai Showdown, you may select from 12 warriors and you will also unlock three bonus characters as you fight. Fight for the honor of destroying the evil that threatens Japan, win your battles and take out Amakusa, the evil Ambrosia’s minion.
