Shadowrun, a 1993 Data East publication for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, was an action based role playing game that offered a funky cyber punk or dark science fiction theme. It is a fully licensed title that is based on a pen and paper game of the same name.
Magic has been recently rediscovered in the world. Creatures once thought to be mythological in nature are now accepted as real…because they are. Everything gets topsy turvy, but not for anyone more than Jake Armitage. He is, oddly (because he’s an ordinary courier), assassinated. He wakes up in the morgue after a strange figure casts a spell on him. He will spend the rest of the game trying to unravel the mystery surrounding his own death, as well as his future.
This is a skill-based role playing game and it is nothing like other video games of the same name, although there have been other licensed titles based on this game that are available on other formats. This is a unique game that uses “karma” points to help a player improve.
